About Simone

Simone Sawyer is a student-athlete at the University of Pennsylvania. She is committed to becoming a better player and person by sharing her struggles with the world.

Despite these struggles, Simone has achieved many things on and off the court. She played at Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, Ill.) and left her mark. She was a 2022 Illinois State champion, Super Sectional champion, Sectional champion, Regional champion, North Suburban Conference champion, and Dundee Crown Tournament champion.

To continue, she was voted Two-time First Team All-State, Four-time North Suburban All-Conference, North Suburban Conference Player of the Year, Lake County News Sun Player of the Year, Four-time Daily Herald All-Area team, Three-time Lake County All-Area team, Pioneer Press All-Area team, and Stevenson Female Athlete of the Year.

Simone is the second all-time leading scorer in Stevenson history and holds the record for most points in a single season, record for most steals in a single game, and tied for most field goals made in a state championship. Simone’s success carries into the classroom as she was voted for Gold Honor Roll, Academic Honor Roll, and received the English Communication award.

Simone will continue to make her mark on the world, as she heads on her mental health journey.
